Abriso specialises in the extrusion of PE foam, air-cushion films and polystyrene. The company mainly produces for the packaging and construction industries and has a strong position within the European market of packaging and insulation materials with seven production plants at home and abroad. Abriso contacted Lybover AIR for an extraction system for both material transport and dedusting.

The Lybover way

Recycling of production waste

In the production of extruded PE foam profiles, there is always a production loss at start-up and during product changes. These production losses are kept to a minimum, but they still result in large volumes of waste and a loss of valuable raw materials. In order to produce sustainably and efficiently, it is necessary to recycle and reuse the waste as much as possible. Therefore, the production waste is processed so that it becomes a useful raw material again. First, the PE foam goes into a shredder, which reduces the long pieces of waste into PE chips for easier reprocessing. The chips end up in a silo that serves as a buffer to feed an extruder. The extruder melts the PE foam and turns it into PE granulate that can be used to make PE foam profiles.

We opted again for Lybover AIR because of its extensive experience in waste recycling and excellent project follow-up from construction to commissioning.

Material transport and dust extraction

The installation of Lybover AIR ensures that the product is transported from the shredder to the silo and that the silo is also ventilated. For this purpose, 1 fan is used which combines both functions. The venting of the silo is done by means of a VARIO dust filter. The fan extracts the chips at the extraction point on the crusher and transports them to the silo. The silo is equipped with a cyclone entrance to filter the chips out of the air as efficiently as possible. Through the VARIO filter, the dust is removed from the air. At the bottom of the VARIO filter, the dust is taken back to the silo. Because the extracted dust is explosive and important ignition sources can arise on a crushing plant, the plant is protected according to the ATEX directive. Approved back pressure valves, pressure relief and an approved exit sluice are used for this.
