For over 80 years, DL Chemicals has been manufacturing high-quality and durable adhesives and sealants. Products of a high and consistent quality level. This includes a full range of silicones, MS polymers and hybrid sealants, acrylic sealants, PU sealants, PU foams, glues, side products, etc. Looking for a solution to work more efficiently and safely at the site in Waregem, Project and Facility Manager David Vandenheede contacted Lybover METAL. From his previous work experience at Deceuninck he was already familiar with the exciting projects of Lybover.
The request was to build a second storage rack for IBC containers and drums in order to centralise all storage capacity closer to the mixing kitchen. The associated piping was also part of the assignment. Especially the limited available space and the requirements for safety and quality formed a challenge. To avoid surprises, a 3D scan was made. The design was then drawn out in detail.
The storage rack allows both IBC containers and 200-litre drums to be placed at the bottom. The piping was designed to allow for the installation of pneumatics. The valves are provided to make automatic operation possible in the long run. The piping was prefabricated in our own workshop at Lybover and after preparation it was installed spark free in an Atex zone by our own mechanics. Production in the surrounding zones was not interrupted during the assembly work.
Now the storage space is used optimally and flexibly, DL Chemicals is ready for the future and the planned automation.
